TRUMP HALTS AI EXECUTIVE ORDER, PRIORITIZING SPEED OVER REGULATION

The Trump administration has abruptly paused a planned AI executive order that would have created a voluntary federal screening process for advanced models from OpenAI, Google, and Anthropic before public release. The stated reason: preventing any slowdown in American AI progress versus China. Internal White House divisions are visible — AI czar David Sacks reportedly pushes for minimal regulation, while another camp wants mandatory barriers on frontier models. A third group advocates for voluntary government visibility as a middle ground. This signals a clear deregulatory posture from the administration on AI safety.

COGNITION AI HITS $26 BILLION VALUATION IN MEGA-ROUND

Cognition AI, the company behind Devin the AI coding agent, has raised over 1 billion dollars at a 26 billion dollar post-money valuation. Lead investors include Lux Capital and General Catalyst. Revenue run rate has exploded to roughly 492 million dollars, up from just 37 million in May of 2025. The valuation has roughly doubled since their September 2025 round. This is the biggest vote of confidence yet in autonomous AI coding agents as a category, and it signals that investors see the software engineering market as ripe for AI disruption.

SNOWFLAKE AND AWS INK 6 BILLION DOLLAR DEAL, STOCK SURGES

Snowflake and AWS announced a five-year, 6 billion dollar infrastructure and AI partnership focusing on generative AI, agentic systems, and workload migration to AWS Graviton processors. SNOW stock surged roughly 30 to 40 percent after hours. Snowflake also raised its fiscal 2027 product revenue guidance to 5.84 billion dollars. Hundreds of customers are now spending over a million annually on the platform. This deal underscores the massive infrastructure buildout happening behind every AI interface.

ANTHROPIC'S RAPID EXPANSION: 5 GIGAWATTS, TWO ACQUISITIONS

Anthropic continues torrid expansion. CFO Krishna Rao revealed the company has contracted for up to 5 gigawatts of Google TPU and Amazon Trainium capacity, plus a deal with SpaceXAI for over 300 megawatts — roughly 220,000 NVIDIA GPUs — of dedicated compute. On the M&A side, Anthropic acquired Stainless to improve developer tooling for agentic systems and Fractional AI, positioning itself against Palantir in enterprise AI consulting. Meanwhile, The Verge reports Anthropic and OpenAI are waging a multi-million-dollar political proxy war in Washington.

ELEVENLABS MUSIC V2, SYNTHID ADOPTION, AND QUICK HITS

ElevenLabs launched Music v2 with better vocals, mid-track genre transitions, and commercial licensing with up to 40 percent price cuts. Google DeepMind's SynthID watermarking has been adopted by both OpenAI for image generation and ElevenLabs for audio — over 100 billion pieces of content have now been watermarked, equivalent to sixty thousand years of audio.

Cohere released Command A Plus, a 218-billion-parameter MoE model under Apache 2.0 that runs on just two H100 GPUs with 4-bit quantization. Demis Hassabis told Axios we are three-quarters of the way to AGI, now possible by 2029. Amazon greenlit three AI-assisted animated series for Prime Video. And Tencent launched WorkBuddy globally, China's desktop AI agent with a skills gallery of over 100 expert agents.
